ACTIVITIES OF ASJA.BIZ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Asja.biz manages directly the activities of design, construction and management of biogas energy conversion plants. From plant design to plant decommissioning, Asja.biz pays the utmost attention to environment-related issues. The activities performed can be subdivided into five stages, as described below. They are listed in chronological order, although, in some cases, different stages may be carried out simultaneously: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Stage 1: site identification, preliminary design, acquisition of exploitation rights. Asja.biz identifies and evaluates solid urban waste landfills where biogas energy conversion plants can be installed. This evaluation is conducted by paying the greatest care to two fundamental aspects: 1) Landfill producibility, i.e., how much biogas can be extracted and hence how much electric energy can be produced; producibility is estimated based on an analysis of the construction and management characteristics of the landfill and the composition of the refuse; this is done with the aid of a special mathematical calculation and simulation model developed by Asja.biz. 2) General environmental characteristics of the landfill and its management; this is done through careful and repeated surveys involving measuring processes, probe hole drilling and the acquisition on site of all the documents necessary to gain a thorough knowledge of both the history and the current situation of the landfill, both in terms of technical-administrative and permit conditions and in terms of its foreseeable evolution. If the outcome of the assessment process is positive, a collaboration agreement for the conversion into energy of the biogas is entered into with the institutional body that "owns" the biogas (private individuals or companies, Communes, Consortiums of Communes, Municipal Companies). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The main requirements to be met by the design project are: The executive design stage includes the development of the necessary authorisation procedures. Asja.biz has a policy of on-going communication and collaboration with the authorities, according to transparency criteria, especially at this stage, to make available all the information regarding the projects to be developed. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . Stage 3 : construction and testing. Asja.biz plant construction works consist of all the building works associated with the laying of the biogas conveyance pipes and the installation of the condensate collection system, the construction of concrete floors and retention-basins for the engines and the oil containers, the installation of pipe lines, engines, the electrical system, the biogas analysis instrumentation and the plant monitoring equipment. Upon the completion of these construction works, the plant start-up stage gets underway. The inspection process consists of verifying plant performance and its conformity to functional and environmental project requirements, in accordance with the permits and the international regulations. Another aspect verified at this stage is that production is in keeping with the parameters envisaged in the project. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . Stage 4 : operation. A plant managed by Asja.biz is run by one or more operators under the supervision of a Project Manager (PM). The technical service staff carries out periodic maintenance interventions on the generating sets and plant as a whole. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . Stage 5 : decommissioning. When due to a decrease in the quantity of biogas extracted and/or the
methane content of the biogas, the operation of the plant is no longer
economically profitable or admissible under the applicable law provisions,
Asja.biz removes the electric energy generation equipment and restores
the site to its original conditions. The equipment for the capture of
residual biogas is sold to the landfill manager or the company in charge
of its post-operational stage. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
