The heart of these systems is the generating set, consisting of a diesel engine running on vegetal oil and mated to an alternator. The engine is specially designed to be fuelled with soy, sunflower, colza, palm, jatropha oils or a mix thereof. The systems will generate green electric energy and will also supply hot water for the remote heating of homes, hospitals, schools and industrial plants.

An innovative field of endeavour in the national scenario, the production of energy from vegetal oils can be a valuable stimulus to the development of energy from renewable sources in Italy, enabling territorial bodies and private concerns to comply with the stringent European Directives on the need to reduce CO2 emissions in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol. Furthermore, the use of fuels of local origin, such as sunflower and colza oils, promotes local farming activities, creating new jobs, in a prospect of ever greater environmental and social sustainability.

The generation of green energy from vegetal oils does not entail a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions: during the combustion process, in fact, this fuel releases the same quantity of CO2 as was absorbed by the plants during their growth through photosynthesis. During their life cycle, plants store the solar energy, which is the most widespread energy resource of our plant: this energy is then converted into green electric energy by our systems. Unlike fossil fuels, this virtuous circle preserves the environment so that it can be enjoyed by future generations.
